Blah Blah Woof Woof Recording artist Steve Kritzer is a man of many Musics.
Singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, recording artist, producer,
studio musician and band member, Steve Kritzer wears many 'hats', and wears
them well, making him one of the true rising stars in the Folk and
acoustic music world. An award winning songwriter (finalist at the
Kerrville and Napa Valley Folk festivals), Steve is a regular mainstage
performer at the Cork and Belfast Folk Festivals in Ireland, the Bluebird
Cafe' in Nashville, Tennessee, the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival
in Texas, and many points in between. Steve is gaining fans worldwide for his
incredibly polished yet personal performances, fiery instrumental work,
and award winning 'touch your heart' songs.
A man of many musics, Kritzer is as comfortable with Celtic and bluegrass
music as he is with traditional folk, country, rock, and big band swing,
blending these influences with his own ideas and amazingly diverse musical
talents.
"His hands are around his guitar and his arms are
around his audience"
Radio KEEN's Lynn Scheinberg.
During any set, either with his top-notch band, or solo, Kritzer's hands are
likely to play just about every instrument imaginable. He is equally at home
on guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle or piano, and his warm evocative voice
has been compared to Gordon Lightfoot, Don Maclean, even Lyle Lovett, yet
is uniquely his own.
Kritzer's intimate style is rooted in the West Coast coffeehouses of the sixties,
where he began his career as a teen. After earning a degree in Psychology, Kritzer
and his sister began performing as a duo, later to form the innovative, critically
acclaimed bluegrass/country band Succotash. After disbanding, he spent a year
touring the folk clubs and festivals of Europe, then returned to form Swallowtail,
which toured worldwide for seven years. The band overlapped with a new project
with the late Gary Dunn, forming one of the hottest finger-picking duos on the
West Coast.
"He simply knows a million songs and performs them flawlessly"
Los Gatos Times
Steve now divides his time between Nashville and California, honing his performing
skills, writing with some of Nashville's best writers, and putting his vast
instrumental and production skills to use on numerous recording projects for others.
As well as his own record label Swallowtail Music. He is also gaining a new legion of

of which demonstrate the warmth and easy sophistication born from years of hard
